Sails : Merlin Tri-Ply Jib

by Race Team 3. June 2010 18:01

This weekend we are off to Weymouth in the Merlin, we will be testing the new Tri-Ply jib.

2006 saw the introduction of a new mainsail cloth, ODL06 with Technora fibres. The new cloth had an immediate impact with top 3 finishes at both the National and Inland Championships. After continuous developments over the past few years the sails have now claimed the past 2 National and Salcombe week titles and currently hold the Silver Tiller title as well.

The Sails:

Mainsail - The Speed Merlin Rocket mainsail is manufactured from Dimension Polyant ODL06 Technora and comes complete with sail bag, battens, numbers, window & cunningham block.

Jib - Now made from NEW Contender RS4 cloth for extra durability. The new jib material extends the competitive life of your sail without reducing performance. Comes complete with sail bag.

Spinnaker - Manufactured from Contender 0.75oz Dynakote, the cloth has a silicone coating and is applied using Nano technology, with this type of finish it enables the spinnaker to slide in and out of the chute with ease. The Speed spinnaker is an excellent all round sail which provides exceptional performance both reaching & running. The sail has a radial bottom to provide extra stability and panels are glued & sewn to provide extra durability. Sail comes complete with sail bag.
